The spirit of initiating the center came as an impact raising community sensitization with Mr. Mapunda and his fellow Social Workers in collaboration with other community activists and well wishers in Moshi with the same task of transforming the lives of vulnerable/homeless children in the community particularly street children and Orphans.
Major Co-founder of Msamaria Children’s Home Mr. Mapunda left his payable job in 2006 to support homeless children.
Msamaria is located in Rau – Pension, Rau ward, Moshi town District, Kilimanjaro region of United Republic of Tanzania, with the core aim of supporting homeless children.
Due to a combination of poverty, neglect and abuse push children into the streets. Some lost their parents to HIV/AIDS. Too many children in Tanzania are forced to take care of themselves, homeless and alone, when they are as young as five years old.
Msamaria Children’s Home gives kids their childhood back. Without Msamaria, homeless children are trapped in poverty and neglect. With the generosity of people around the world, though, they can be rescued, given loving care, and even grow up to attend university!
We Msamaria rescue homeless children and gives them loving care, the chance to go to school, and a hopeful future, and our sincere plea is you and me to join the move as an individual or a group!
